Much like the heralded stimulus the democrats wailed through with bliss. Designed to keep the union voter base working and happy without concern for the consequences.

How many hundreds of millions of dollars did we see vanish per failed green company investments by the Government?

Oh yeah, Obama's friends and bundlers made millions off our money while we go in further debt and nobody seems to care. In fact we are ready for another round.

Coming in last.

50. California
> Debt per capita: $4,008 (18th highest)
> Budget deficit: 20.7% (17th largest)
> Unemployment: 11.7% (2nd highest)
> Median household income: $57,287 (10th highest)
> Pct. below poverty line: 16.6% (18th highest)

California is 24/7 Wall St.’s “Worst Run State” for the second year in a row. Due to high levels of debt, the state’s S&P credit rating is the worst of all states, while its Moody’s credit rating is the second-worst. Much of California’s fiscal woes involve the economic downturn. Home prices plunged by 33.6% between 2006 and 2011, worse than all states except for three. The state’s foreclosure rate and unemployment rate were the third- and second-highest in the country, respectively. But efforts to get finances on track are moving forward. State voters passed a ballot initiative to raise sales taxes as well as income taxes for people who make at least $250,000 a year. While median income is the 10th-highest in the country, the state also has one of the highest tax burdens on income. According to the Tax Foundation, the state also has the third-worst business tax climate in the country.

But hey, no worries. We got Moon Beam and the beam me up media.

Top 7 states are run by Republican governors. Worst run by Democrats.

Well, on the bright side we get that cool High Speed Train.

We have a "light rail" system here that's one of the worst money holes in the country, and almost all mass transit systems are money holes.

Note in the article that the average taxpayer subsidy for light rail systems is 70 percent.

Government spending, despite the frantic defenses of Keynesians, is basically a license to burn money. The High Speed Rail project is just the most obvious example.

- The main goal of private investment is to have more money at the other end than you do going in.

- The main goal of public spending is to have more political power at the other end than you do going in.

This is why, all else being equal, money left in the private sector will always do more for the economy as a whole than money taken from the private sector and handed to politicians.

Overall spending grows by 12.5 billion.

Relies on 8.5 billion tax hike.

Defers 7 billion with gimmicks.

The General Fund budget at $97.7 billion is actually $104 billion if previous realignment adjustments are included. The General Fund budget is once again above 2007-2008 levels - the highest ever in state history.

The Governor also pulled back from his commitment to pay down the wall of debt, reducing a proposed $1.6 billion repayment of budgetary loans to just $1 billion.

The Governor's 2011-12 proposal to realign state programs to local agencies reduced General Fund expenditures by $5.3 billion. The programs continued to exist. However, instead of receiving funding from the General Fund, they became special fund programs. In the 2013-14 fiscal year, these programs are expected to cost taxpayers $5.9 billion.

But hey, if it makes the people happy what's not to like.
Change your federal and state withholdings to the maximum allowed to offset the increase in your federal and state taxes and spend your money now, because Gov. Brown needs to meet his proposed revenues.
