Like white on Rice. December 13, 2012 7:26 pm ER

I guess the GOP has managed to succeed in fouling Susan Rice’s character and reputation, and setting back her career. And for what? Even IF there was anything to their ridiculous Libya conspiracies, which there isn’t, she certainly had nothing to do with it. Rice had nothing to do with Libya. It wasn’t her job.

They just went after her because their real enemies, the White House and State Department, weren’t as vulnerable.

Well, its going to cost them. They will pay in policy for their sour grapes and vindictiveness.

Rice will probably become Obama’s new National Security Adviser (no confirmation required) and John Kerry will become Secretary of State. The GOP will just love him, and they’ve already promised not to oppose him. It will be great karma–Rice was known to be much more hawkish in her views than Kerry. What could they possibly have been thinking?
My guess is they really don’t care what happens as long as they can poke De Mau-Mau in de eye.

So what about Kerry’s vacant Massachusetts Senate seat? They may have hopes for ex-Sen Scott Brown, but Massachusetts voters already preferred Lefty Liz Warren to him, and they even failed to support their former Governor, the Mittster, for President. Liberal Massachusetts will go for any qualified Democrat over him, no matter how much money the GOP Pacs pour into his campaign. There’s talk they may even talk one of their favorite sons out of retirement…
