I blew over a grand at a dealer years ago tracking electrical nightmares in my old Eurovan.

Finally, I talked to my regular mechanic, who worked on our Chevy but didn't do foreign cars. He referred me to a guy named Scott. One of those little old buildings on Evelyn with one garage door and a back yard full of parts.

Scott kept the car for a couple of days. Called me once during that time to say he was closing in on the problem. Then called to tell me it was fixed. I went over, and he said I was missing a ground wire to my frame. He showed me the fix. A bolt and a piece of green wire. He charged me for like an hour's labor and for the bolt. I told him he had a customer for life.

He did.

Nice to know how it all works. I think they call it GRACE.

Plus, the mechanic knows how to get his name out there...by giving freebies. It will come back to him.
