Spreading CIA and NSA operations across the front page in order to bring down the President was practically the Democratic Party’s full time job then, and if the Democrats start getting “holy” about national security now, there are plenty of people out there who will point this out.

What about the House GOP blowing the CIA’s cover on this with their hearing?

If the idea here (if I’m reading you right) is that the administration’s “protester/movie” story was to legitimately cover an attack on a CIA facility, it doesn’t stand up.

Simply declaring that it was a planned terrorist attack on an embassy on 9/11 would have served just as well to cover an attack on a secret CIA facility.

Bush never told us that the attacks on us were because of something some American did.

And after eight years of watching what people like you did to Bush, you should not even be able to say the word “politicize” without your head exploding.

And not to put too fine a point on it, “proposed budgets” would have very little effect on the funding available to the State Department prior to September 11 of this year.

Obama’s budget was dead on arrival in the Democratic Senate, which has generated no budget of its own for over three years. The Republican budget out of the House was also killed by the Senate. We are running on continuing resolutions.

The fiscal year 2011 State Department budget was $46.3 billion. Estimated 2012 budget is about $50.8 billion. They want $51.6 billion in 2013. If you look at the State Department’s request document, page 37, they’re actually asking for a cut in 2013 for embassy security funds. They also detail where the money was supposed to go.

In short, the “budget cut” meme is a lie. I expect this to be remembered.

They didn’t have enough security because the State Department didn’t think they needed it. Requests for additional security in Libya were ignored.

Shall we all ignore the fact that republicans have been cutting hundreds of millions out of Obama’s proposed budget for embassy security and that put all embassies at risk? What about the Paul Ryan Budget that every House Republican voted for cut funding to the State Department by 20% which includes funding for embassy security?

There’s an investigation going on and there is no doubt whatsoever the people responsible will pay for it or be running until the day they die.
