I was raised to value people. To assist the less able, the less fortunate.

However, I did have to learn to be happy with what I have, not try to have everything. That the least person is worth more than all the "stuff". And that killing, maiming and destroying in the interests of multi-national corporations is as low as a person or society can go. Doesn't get any worse than that.

And that's the Conservative agenda. Grew out of that, thank God.

<p>And you apparently haven't intellectually constructed a political or economic view since childhood.</p>

We did <a href="http://habitablezone.com/2012/04/12/pick-the-group/" rel="nofollow">detailed comparisons here already</a> between "progressives" in America and actual communist beliefs. Maybe you forgot.

Those most in need of help NEVER recognize it.
The conspiracies, paranoia, and delusions aren't one-time, they recur in the face of reality. It's a worry.

The vast majority of those who disagree with you are not communists. (HOWEVER, the Communist Manifesto does agree with the Conservative agenda, pointing out that excesses such as US Conservatives will lead to the downfall of the US and it's overthrow.)

Just file away what I say in your memory bank, and realize that you haven't changed a political or economic view since childhood. Do you have any idea as to what that means? It gets worse with age.

<p>Something else I noticed in the media:</p>

Lots of references to "eking out a victory," "surviving," and "close votes."

<img src="http://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/sites/default/files/styles/blog_listing_full/public/Screen%20shot%202012-06-06%20at%2010.26.12%20AM.png" alt="" />

Walker beat Barrett 53 to 46 percent.

Obama beat McCain...53 to 46 percent (popular vote). Don't recall many "squeaker" headlines back then.

When Robert once used an illustration of a Nazi newspaper to make his point, I was able to marshall enough intellectual horsepower to realize he wasn't actually calling Fox News "Nazis."

Pravda was news in service to a political party. A more astute observation would be that since Fox News also cleaves closely to a political party, they could also fall under that term, and it would be a good point.

The best way to get news is to have as little as possible filtering the information on the way to your brain. This isn't always easy, or even possible, but it's worth trying.

This is a Flame with a serious side. When you start seeing evil foreign influences in a news clip like that, implying that the network and those particular personages are communist with all of that implies, when that happens there is a serious issue with your mind.

I've seen you say that all Democrats are communist before, which is obviously not true. But that delusion seems to be persisting, even getting worse with age.

The tendency to see a conspiracy wherever anyone disagrees with you, the belief that everyone who disagrees with you is a communist coupled with an inability to admit you can be wrong all work together to dig you into a deeper and deeper mental pit.

Some of us have been overwhelmed by the contrast between what we were taught as children and what we wanted desperately to believe, and what we actually saw, between what we have been told and what the real world is like. We paid a high price for living in those fantasies of our youth and others paid an even higher price. We needed professional help to sort through at least some of the issues.

But first it took the ability to acknowledge we may have been wrong. That is very hard. One has to accept responsibility for actions carried out under false beliefs. Were there accomplices? Of course. The people who reinforced those phony ideas and the people who supplied us with the mechanisms for carrying out their agenda. But we were the ones who executed it, who physically carried out their plans. We were guilty. They will have to live with themselves, we have to learn to live with ourselves. And it can be done, in the interest of living in reality, but at a huge cost.

Should you choose to loose those delusions and should any self-doubt enter your mind, if ever the situation around you does not seem to match your belief system, consider professional help. I doubt that will ever happen, there is a powerful filter in your head which rejects any information not in agreement with what you want to believe, and it's an option I'd be remiss if I didn't at least let you know it's available.

And not everyone who disagrees with you is a communist. As I posted earlier, a person cannot be reasoned out of a position they didn't reason their way into, but at least if you hear it enough times you may wonder.
