He seems to emit an aura of sleeziness around him. I can’t put my finger on it, but I just don’t care for him.

Perry’s polls were sinking badly long before this last screwup. Unfortunately, the debates are almost the only public face some of these candidates have for that large chunk of the public who isn’t paying much attention to politics on their own time. Frankly, I have no idea why Republicans are having about one a week, particularly when most of them are being “moderated” by people who would just as soon see every candidate on the stage hit by lightning.

I need to focus on his issues, voting records, consistency and focus among other things. I can’t say I would vote for him yet…it is too early, but I surely understand him a little better. I need to stop listening to the media. I need to read more about *all* of the candidates. I seem to do better when I approach important issues with seeing it in black and white and in my arthritic hand, ready to read it over and over again, until I can get it through my thick skull. It is more thought provoking to read.
