One thing we forgot. October 14, 2011 1:35 pm bowser

In describing the results of the Tea Party’s successes in turning the US into a banana republic, the destruction of the middle classes and the termination of social services, transferring that wealth to the ultra-wealthy, we have forgotten one basic item

There will be more and better means of crowd control.  Obviously the Blackwaters will be willing to do absolutely anything to anybody, and the conventional military will guard concentration camps and be effective for crowd control.   What we don’t know is what will be available for controlling “the masses”.

What comes to mind are sensors which tell who leaves a house, where they go, where they go, and who else is also there.  Obviously visual surveillance through many cameras is possible.  Small missiles or guns on each camera to control the leadership of any gathering.  Improved chemicals for controlling crowds.

More cheap labor will be needed to build goodies as the middle class will not be there to purchase and help defray developmental costs.  And, by the way, the “middle class” which will be gone will include the 95% or so of conservatives who are not super-wealthy.  The upper-class wealthy will eat their own in a heartbeat.  Wannabe ain’t “be”.

Anyway, it will be very difficult to conduct an Iraqi style civil war.  It may be impossible to resist the combination of mercenary, military and money.
