And lo, there was the Sermon on the podrock...and it was silly, man.

(There's 2/3's of a mineralogic pun in there. I'll be the only one that finds it even remotely funny.)

Ah, Blake...

One of the most quoted bits o' William Blake's verse. Huxley used it for his book on his experience with mescaline, Jim Morrison then used it for the name o' his band. I devoured Blake's work during my poetic collegiate years: tasty words for a developing mind. Many of his words resonate in my philosophy.

"To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour."
Auguries of Innocence

Basically, Blake's point of view is that God gave you a body & mind to experience the universe of his creation and that organized religion tries to keep you from fully experiencing that gift. Least that's the way I read him.

Tap into my gnosis, eh? Been thinking of starting a religion. Send me ten bucks, I'll tell you more. But I'm still praying for my religeous tax exemption status. I can't tell you the name of the church, 'cause it's being trademarked, copyrighted, logo-d, and the what not.

I have never chosen that realm myself.

From my perspective, as the door opens to all that is, it comes when the Universe senses the opportunity, not me, for I am a mere child in these matters. It is in my evolution to observe and eventually understand the signs that the Universe affords me.

Your quote is grand!

Do you have any idea Podrock how I wish I could tap into your gnosis?

In Leviticus, Matthew and Mark and elsewhere in the Bible, we are told to "Love they neighbor as thyself."

That begins with self. Love thyself and then extend that to your neighbors, friends and others. And then you will be ready to Love Your Enemy.

But it begins with thyself. With all your faults, imperfections, ego, etc. As you are, not as you wish you were if only you didn't have that pesky ego. You could journey all your life trying to surpass, transcend ego but what are you doing? Focusing on self. Just love YOU and the rest will follow. To love yourself, you have to forgive yourself for everything. In forgiveness, lies the release of ego, the release of all negativity. In that moment, you become one with your God and love becomes transcendent.

The Course of Miracles teaches us that there are only two emotions, one is love and the other fear. Of these two, only love is real.

There is no transcendence, there is only you as you are, deserving of love--from yourself, from me, from God, from every being. Once you accept that, you've done what you came to do. We all came to do that but we all approach it from different directions, in different ways. We are all learning the same lesson.
