“He got martyred. I saw it. He got really seriously martyred.”

“Did you bring back his body for proper burial?”

“Some of it. I soaked up as much of him as I could with this rag, but it was raining and the rest of him went down the storm sewer.”

“Ah. Burial at sea, then. We’ll have to find his replacement. What size vest do you wear?”

Structures, like factories or mosques, can be re-built relatively quickly. If you want to create a long-term disruption of mass production, you’ve got to take out the “factory worker,” which basically means killing families in their homes. Rebuilding workers takes a generation, more or less.

Carpet bombing cities wasn’t devised just to pass time, ya know?

I believe taking out bin Laden had little practical effect, but psychologically it must have been devastating. They probably are feeling now like we did when that 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower. Except for them, they know now it can only get worse.

I keep on visualizing Hitler in his bunker, reading heartbreaking dispatches, moving non-existent divisions around on the map, and the sound of Red artillery a little closer every day. And he knows from the smell on their uniforms that his aides are no longer afraid to slip out every now and then to sneak a cigarette.

An added plus has to be the continuous dread the terrorists have to live under. Imagine knowing that at any time, anywhere, a missile could blast you from a plane you never knew was there.

The idea to arm these drones actually preceded 9/11. It was a good idea.
