I totally agree on 3D. Get back to me when the glasses are no longer needed.

In my opinion 3D is no better today than it was in 1955. Loss of brilliance more than offsets the borax 3D effect.

Maybe it is because my eyes no longer collect light well, I am not a fan of 3D.

No, western Canada is the most "Americanized" part of the country, as opposed to Quebec, for example, which has a decidedly european feel (and sound too, of course). Being an Albertan was great preparation for being an American.

I had a bigger transition to make in moving from a city of almost a million to a village of almost a thousand.

I picked up a nice high-end Samsung hi-def set back in January as one of my rare gifts to myself. Best thing ever!

I can watch Blu-Ray movies that are even better in resolution than in many theaters. I don't sweat missing good films in the theater any more.

My cable delivers a lot of hi-def stuff, too.

When my son's home, he hooks up his X-Box, which also delivers 1080p. I have as much fun watching him play as I do watching movies. Except his high-speed first person action makes me a little green sometimes.

I knew when I bought the TV that it couldn't do 3D, and knew that if I waited I could get one that would, but who needs 3D?

I agree. Netflix is doing phenominally well because they're offering a great service at a great price, which seems to be an absolutely terrifying prospect for the cable and satellite providers.

I watch HHI, too, and have seen a couple set in Buenos Aires but never in Uruguay. I'll have to watch for one of those.

I had the hutz pah, just never had the money. I used to do things alone that amazed my female acquaintances. I didn't know I was supposed to stay home and quake in my boots because I had no male companion. I just went right on living, exploring in total oblivion to the dangers of being a single female. OTOH, I did know karate and had no hesitation to use it. Thank God I never had to. Besides, I was always instinctively careful about the places I went and when I went.

I love International House Hunters! I wish I had the hutz pah to move to another country like that.

Oh hell who am I kidding? I have been planning my trip to Stone Henge and Scotland for twenty years.

Well, you will never get BR for Netflix. It is definitely the best thing since sliced bread.

If it were not for the stinking great series they have on the premium channels, I could easily live with basic tv service.

I loved Friday Night Lights and I thought they canceled it 2 years ago. I recently found out it is still running and all the missed episodes are right there on Netflix.

There is no downside to Netflix
