If we're sending robots that can multiply (seeds), we should at least know what's going to happen (and avoid destruction of local fauna and/or flora) but as we're not part of the trip, that would be academic.

And especially, if we don't know what they're going to encounter, how could they defend themselves or even, shouldn't they instead not interfere with the local fauna and flora?

Blindly seeding our species all over the universe without being able to check, will certainly encounter ethical issues.
