Turning Phobos (and Deimos if necessary) into a big glowing
ball of light to heat up Mars and kickstart the terraforming
process.

Tip of the space helmet to Arthur C. Clarke from his novel,
The Sands of Mars. Ignore the fact that it says the Red
Planet has no mountains or that he used a similar idea with
Jupiter and Europa in 2010 a few decades later.
