Looks like the Canadians are following suit, but primarily for energy conservation reasons.

I think it's a good idea especially for large cities to turn off their tall building lights expecially when no one is the office. Low lights on the roofs should still stay on, however.

For astronomy's sake, there's a lot everyone can do and for us, clean air would be nice.
