Johannes, I think that's part of the Great Debate question. :}

Topics to read on are Hubble and the Hubble Constant; Allan Sandage who compiled info on galaxies as far as 6 billion ly away. His results indicated that the Hubble Constant was larger at an earlier time than it is today. The universe was expanding more rapidly at an earlier time. Which makes even more sense as to why we were able to see that new GRB.

Bottom lines and questions: How big is the Universe; how old is the Universe; rate and speed of expansion; fate of the Universe?
