Should have had a simple weather station aboard

I am sure the geologists will say So What, but it is a shame they couldn't have
put even a simple weather station of some kind aboard the rovers, even a little
wind sock that the cameras could watch like they did on Mars Pathfinder.

So that when the rover do finally grind to a halt, but their machinery is still
working, they could still do some kind of science in addition to watching the
clouds go by and watch the occasional dust get moved around a bit. Oh
yeah, and the dust devils.

Does MSL have a meteorology station? Viking 1 and 2 did. Does Phoenix?

And while I am here, does Phoenix have a microphone to pick up any sounds?
