I have read the article and Jacob has missed it's point entirely. The article doesn't assert that "Big Bang Theory" is "dying." The article states simply that we are living in a unique period of time where obtaining evidence of the Big Bang is physically possible. That will not be the case in the distant future as the universe expands.
