I have forwarded your comments on to Linda Moulten Howe, the main investigator (as I have done in the past). If this was poured in a mould, can magnetite be liquified, and at what temperature would it melt the mould?
I can't see why someone would go to the trouble and expense to make it, then leave it in a god forsaken area where it might not be found for a thousand years or more.
This looks like a pet rock I might want to keep.
