Richard,I don't know what to say, that might bring comfort. You knew him in the flesh, yet all of us wish we had. Slick will be missed greatly, but you carry the greater burden. Your only consolation is that you also carry that many more memories of the man. My heart goes out to you as well as to his family.
Slick did make a difference. His writings have touched me immensely. He had the uncanny ability to open up his soul for us to see in very few words. We were all made the better for it.

A long time ago, upon my request he e-mailed me Pathfinder in its rough unfinished state. He asked me that I not share it, but direct anybody else who wanted a copy back to him. I feel the need to honor that promise, but wish I could share it with others who have not seen it or wish to see it again.
