SketchUp, another fine Google program.
I've enjoyed this program ever since I accidently found myself at a party of the developers the day they were bought by Google. Since then it has become one of my favorite tools. I draft in AutoCad and convert to SketchUp to show people who don't know anything about 3D drafting. Mrs. P is learning it now. She's going through the tutorials before I start working with her on the planning of her new garden. We've the entire house in SketchUp and she loves it. One of the guys I work with is using it to plan an addition to his house.
It's great for my work, too. I can share files that illustrate a certain drill target with the other geologists I work with, or just spit out a short animation clip to show a moving view of the model. The non-geologist CEO of a company I work with uses presentations in SketchUp to show investors what we are doing. He loves it.
Go to the 3D warehouse and you can find whatever you need to furnish your virtual house. Plus amazing models you can play with.
Oh, and it is free, for personal use. I paid for the Pro version and it was worth it.
