I think adding a private search to registered users would be a great thing. Allowing google to continue skimming the boards recent TOC is also a good thing since it gives us web presence and has the potential of bringing in new blood. By not giving everything to google we are providing a little insulation to those past posts, which some may be uncomfortable sharing with the world because of their handle, changing viewpoint, or whatever. That allows some grace time if somebody wants to decrease their Google footprint, they can simply change handles and Google will eventually forget.
