I've just seen a movie called "The Beach" with Di Caprio.
Like in many movies, the beach, the sea, the stars always seem to bring some meaningful thoughts.

But I look at the stars as a hobby. They mean something in that I wonder about them more than about myself. I'm not looking at the stars to give meaning to my existence. If I did, then it would be depressing as I know how insignificant we are relative to them.

I'm aware you're interested in what "Meaning" implies. Perhaps just knowing who, where, when and how we are gives some meaning. I'm not sure we even know all those things, though. Or is it its quest that gives meaning? But not everyvody cares about that.
