Unions play into it and I'm not a conservative

Unions got a little giddy with power. I don't blame anyone for wanting benefits and a secure retirement but someone somewhere should have known that eventually the benefits would weigh companies down. There is enough blame to go around. It's also piss poor planning by the companies and by the unions. It should have been about building together; instead it's always been an adversarial relationship, unions trying to get all they can and company executives with a me, me, me, I-want-my-golden-parachute attitude. I'd like to kick them all n the butt. Ford should have and could have foreseen the future trend. Not by being psychic but by understanding the ebb and flow of economic cycles. Instead they've all had their heads up their asses and now they have to scramble to deal with high oil prices and fleets of SUV's and big pickups sitting around on lots with no buyers. And Toyota is producing a big-ass pick-up, too, and will pay heavily also for their lack of foresight. The only sure thing about economies is that they will not hum along forever. Things hum and people get greedy and the weaknesses in the system get exposed and then the correction is painful.
