I intensely resent the "starry-eyed" comment because it implies that people that support Obama do it only because of the idol appeal and not for the qualities we see in the entire package.
You have every right and even a responsibility to inspect the candidates carefully in their policies and even some aspects of their private lives but I've been watching your evolution and you disembraced him as quickly and precipitously as you supported him. That is not critical analysis. It is being swayed by popular trends.
It took me a long time to come to the conclusions I did about the man and when the attacks began I was damned sure not going to get played by them. I investigated them all myself before jumping to any conclusions. The same with Hillary and McCain. My views about them as leaders have been forged not simply by their recent actions but by years of watching them manipulate their public images. Both in the last decade have shown their greedy and lying sides.
The difference between the three in how they've approached their lives and the ethical steps they've taken along the way is so striking that it's no wonder the attacks have occurred as they have on Obama. He's a Boy Scout in comparison and it takes unethical and distorted smears to find holes in his armor.
Stop listening to the MSM. It's corporate propaganda thrown in with this huge desire to create controversy. There are a few rational people still telling the truth that are thrown at us as tokens and because they have dynamic enough personalities to get huge ratings. Spend some time listening to Rachel Maddow. I've yet to see her wrong on an issue.
That you aren't incensed at Tom's chickenhawk statement that more war might be in our best interest tells me that you're just swaying in the wind here. Stick to your principles please.
