It's not all dirt poor folk living there.
It's not all coal mining.
But....
If Barack Obama wants to win the Democratic delegates in WV;
he better wear a flannel shirt and a pair of jeans.
A white shirt and tie?
No!...That won't impress the working poor and underemployed
in WV.
And he would be advised to visit a couple of coal mines and go down
with the coal miners into the pits for decent photo opportunities
and talk, but mostly listen to them and their grievances and worries
in their working environment.
That sounds a lot like political image and symbolism.
Yes it is!.... Image trumps substance in politics.
Politics nowadays, anywhere, is IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE!
Substance has been reduced to vague promises and short sound bites.
