Dan Spires

"Greetings and Felicitations" -- Star Trek Episode #18, "The Squire of Gothos" (no, I'm not a trekkie -- it's just that, good or bad, I simply must watch as much sci-fi as possible)

My name is Dan Spires.

The pic here is of myself and my eldest son over the 2000 winter holidays. I work at UUNet in Ohio as a WAN software tech (also former WAN NOC troubleshooter, former Army Signal troop, former Army Infantry, former younger dude...). I think UUNet is one of the greatest places in the world to work, simply because of the net access. I usually have Justin's and Al's boards up and running throughout the day in my background, as well at MSNBC's Space News BBS, and I stop in regularly when the work falls light -- or during those really good, sadly rare days that I can magically script my PC to handle the workload for me (it's been done).
