My first exposure to Vista
Posted by FrankC on 7/1/2008 12:22:27 PM
I recently bought a Gateway laptop with Vista and other than the annoying security dialogs it is better than I expected.

Many neat features incorporated that eliminate the need for other programs and the GUI is great.

I have never owned a laptop until now and I was amazed how much the prices have dropped. The Gateway has 1.9 mhrtz AMD processor with 3 gig RAM and a 250 gig HD and a fair to middlin graphics card that will ruin most average requirement games.

All this for $600 bucks. Amazing how I can rationalize when a tank of petrol is almost $70.

I understand that some of the Vista stuff can be toggled off, but I haven't got into that yet. Any advice on that will be appreciated.
